Resilience in Action:Disaster Relief for Belize
From October 1st to October 31st, the Southwestern Region will partner with the Nu Kappa Sigma Alumnae Chapter (Belize) to accept monetary donations for purchasing flood relief supplies. This initiative aims to enhance the resilience of those most vulnerable to natural disasters in Belize.
The effort will provide critical resources such as solar lamps, flashlights, cleaning supplies, and toiletries, while fostering a strong sense of solidarity and collective action within the Region. By raising awareness about the importance of disaster preparedness, we empower ourselves to contribute meaningfully, creating a powerful support network that extends beyond immediate relief.
In collaboration with local organizations like the National Garifuna Council, this initiative aids in recovery from flood damage, which often hinders long-term development and exacerbates economic disparities, particularly in rural areas. By joining forces with our International Chapter, Nu Kappa Sigma, we transform concern into action, delivering tangible aid and hope to those facing the challenges of flooding during hurricane season.
