The goal of Project Cradle Care is to raise awareness of the disparate maternal and infant health outcomes minority women face through outreach, advocacy, education, and implicit bias training to mitigate these disparities.

Why This Initiative is Important

A maternal wellness fair is vital for supporting and educating mothers and families, addressing the unique health challenges that arise during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. By offering a range of health screenings, educational resources, and support services, a maternal wellness fair plays a key role in improving maternal and infant health outcomes.

Empowerment: Education is central to a healthy pregnancy and postnatal period. Workshops on nutrition, mental health, breastfeeding, and infant care empower mothers to make informed decisions. Knowledge about warning signs, healthy practices, and coping strategies can drastically reduce health risks for both mother and child.

Community Impact: A wellness fair fosters a sense of community, allowing mothers to meet others facing similar experiences and challenges. Social support has been shown to positively impact maternal mental and physical health, helping mothers feel less isolated and more connected.

Unified Service: Many mothers are unaware of the local resources available to them, from family support services to financial assistance programs. A wellness fair brings these services together in one place, making it easier for mothers to access and utilize support systems.

Our Impact | Maternal Care Kits

By assembling and distributing maternal care kits filled with essential items to expecting or new mothers, we offer tangible support during a critical time in their lives.  Donating maternal care kits fosters a sense of care and solidarity within the community. Mothers who receive these kits often feel supported and valued, which can have a positive impact on their mental health and confidence during the challenging postpartum period. Maternal care kits not only address immediate physical needs but also contribute to long-term health, empowerment, and community support for mothers and their families. These small investments can lead to a significant ripple effect, transforming lives and communities.
